Hot Salvation

Audrey Carmes is a composer and artist hailing from Paris, France. She completed her education at the Paris School of Fine Art and, in the heart of the city, discovered a deep affinity for experimental electronic music. Combining her passion for this genre with her talent for poetry and writing, she developed a unique artistic practice.

In her mesmerising debut album, "Quelque chose s'est dissipé" (Something Has Dissipated), Carmes crafts expansive sonic landscapes that glisten with intricate subtlety. Influenced by krautrock, ambient, and avant-garde electronic music, this French artist draws upon a diverse array of sonic elements to forge her own distinctive fusion of sound design and composition.

Her compositions gradually evolve, layer by layer, with synthesisers weaving intricate patterns across the canvas of the album's eleven tracks. These intricate soundscapes envelop Carmes' delicate vocals and spoken word passages, interspersed with the gentle embrace of bass guitar, vibraphone, and flute.

Carmes describes the album as a contemplative journey, a healing remedy constructed from whispered tones, hushed soundscapes, and repetitive motifs. It is an artistic expression infused with the desire to find solace and inner strength.

Indeed, the English translation of the album title, "Something Has Dissipated," reflects this sentiment.
